Zoe's First Day of First Grade!

Here she is in all her modeling glory. The girl can strike a pose faster than I can say cheese.




Zoe's first day of school was actually last week, but I still needed to do a shout out to my spunky girl. She put this little ensamble together herself, and was feelin' pretty sassy. Take note of the rocking' kicks. Those would be L.A. Gear for all you old timers. It took Aaron and I down memory lane. Except they don't come with the cool plastic keepsake tags anymore. Lame.

Zoe is getting so old! I still can't believe she will be 7,... 7!!!!, in just a few months. I hope the first day of school went well for all you!

Fall is here!

It's cold today! We were on a frost advisory last night. So with the arrival of fall I realized I missed blogging all summer long. Oops. I realized my last post was about being too hot. Oops again. I have a thousand pictures to share (and get off my camera) and funny stories. I will get to blogging, I will get to blogging. And hopefully with more posts you won't be forced to see the poopy picture of the little boy. (I know it made one sister in particular gag every time she came to my blog.) Oops again. I don't want my readers to be nauseous. Until then...

We're Melting!!

It's a record heat wave in Minnesota... specifically Minneapolis! And guess who decided to quit on us? That's right Mr. AC thought it would be the perfect time to NOT show up for the job. We called our AC people and the earliest they can get here is Sunday!!! Boo. By Sunday it will be back in the 70s. Apparently, they are a little swamped right now. I can't imagine why? The past two days the outside temp as been topping off at a whopping 102, and inside our little abode as been topping off at a toasty 89 degrees. Ice packs and Fans... Ice packs and Fans!!!

It's even worse when it's not your kid...

Here is how my day is going...



This is how I found him when I went to get him from his nap. He wasn't crying... just happily playing with fist-fulls of poo. Smearing the goop all over his legs and arms. Mind you, my washer is running overtime right now with the poopy clothes and linens. I had to give him two baths. One to wash all the poo off (which the water promptly turned brown as little floaters swirled around him) and then a second bath with bubbles to get him smelling sweet again. He was the happiest little boy the entire time. He just smiled and cooed at me, loving the water and extra soapy attention. Silly boy, doesn't he know he's suppose to do this before he comes to my house. Jokes on me today.

Whannnt whaaa...

Amber's luck didn't rub off. I didn't even make it into the next round! Thanks for all the love and votes you sent my way, but I didn't realize I was going up against some of those super crafty blogs out there that have 100's and 1,000's of followers. We didn't stand a chance! It was still fun to enter.

Thanks again, and now I should hold a contest on what I should do with the chandelier!

I Need Mandi's Help!!

Reunite the Cousins!! It's official! We are RELATED! I just checked with my most reliable source(my sweet mother) and my Great Grandma Hayfen was a Gubler. Her maiden name was Gubler! I must meet Mandi!!! Vote for Me!!


A few months ago I came across Mandi's blog Vintage Revivals and I have been OBSESSED ever since. It got all my creative juices flowing again. It's been awhile since I've I took time for me and worked on something that I actually wanted to work on... i.e. furniture, frames, etc... instead of laundry, dishes, laundry, house chores, work, laundry etc. You get the point. I'm sure many of you reading this are the same way.

Anyway, I've been trying to figure out our sitting room in our house with it's sad bare walls, and even more sad frame with no family picture or any thing to go in it...



when low and behold on Mandi's blog there is a room makeover giveaway...



I'm gonna win, I'm gonna win, I'm gonna win!! I never enter anything, because I never win!!! I need to bottle up some of my sister Amber's luck and drink it by the gallon. (If you know Amber, she wins everything!!!)

So here are the pix of my sad room with too much furniture and sad walls that need a fresh coat of paint and super sweet stencil to make it a little more funky and inviting.



Look at all the POTENTIAL!!! And I even have a space for a Wall of Mirrors. (I've been starting to hoard mirrors from thrift stores... My husband really loves that I'm a hoarder now, hee hee).



And we have this great bay window with no SPLASH! What to do? What to do?


And can we say UGGGGGLLLLLLYYYYY!

If anyone can fix this chandelier- IT'S MANDI! When we moved into our house 2 years ago, I thought this little beauty would be the first thing to go... we all see how that worked out.

So there you have it! You must vote for me and Send Mandi out to my house to do a major remodel!! Even though I'm way over in Minnesota!! Minnesota needs some love too!
